All data created by WorkTrace is stored locally on your device. We do not store, access, or transmit your data to any servers.
3. User Responsibilities
By using WorkTrace, you agree to:
- Use the Service lawfully: You will use WorkTrace only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Respect others' privacy: You will not use WorkTrace to record others without their knowledge or consent where such consent is required by law.
- Follow institutional policies: If you are using WorkTrace in an academic setting, you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with your institution's policies regarding screen recording and academic integrity tools.
- Maintain your own data: Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for backing up and maintaining your recordings and session data.
- Represent your work honestly: WorkTrace is designed to help you document authentic work. You agree not to use WorkTrace to misrepresent work that is not your own.
4. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use WorkTrace to:
- Record any content that you do not have the right to record
- Capture sensitive information belonging to others without authorization
- Create fraudulent documentation or misrepresent the authenticity of work
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension
- Distribute modified versions of WorkTrace
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
5. Intellectual Property
The WorkTrace extension, including its code, design, logos, and documentation, is the intellectual property of WorkTrace and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Content you create using WorkTrace (recordings, session logs, reports) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your content.

- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is $0, as WorkTrace is free).

WorkTrace is designed to support academic integrity by helping users document their authentic work process. However:
- WorkTrace does not guarantee that your institution will accept WorkTrace documentation as proof of work
- You are responsible for understanding and complying with your institution's academic integrity policies
- WorkTrace is not a substitute for following proper academic conduct guidelines
- We are not responsible for any academic decisions made by institutions based on WorkTrace documentation
10. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

You may stop using WorkTrace at any time by uninstalling the extension. Since we do not collect any data, there is no account to delete or data to request removal of.
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WorkTrace regarding the use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
